Re: When accessing CI viewer, I get the following message: CMDB libraries are not available.
Environment
CMDB 2.1.00
Solution
First cause could be that you need to install Midtier 7.1.00 patch 001.
Additionally this means the CMDB libraries (if midtier installed) have not been copied over to the midtier dir.
Midtier is basically a webserver that has a standalone function and that is to serve web pages to any web capable client. All else are just types of a plugins. CI Viewer adds its own plugins to the server and its ready to go as soon as the server is up and going.
On a default installation on Windows platform the path to put the files would be:
C:\Program Files\AR System\Mid-Tier\WEB-INF\lib\
and the 3 files are:
05/07/2008 06:05 PM 1,581,056 cmdbapi21.dll
05/07/2008 06:05 PM 53,844 cmdbapi21.jar
05/07/2008 06:05 PM 135,168 cmdbjni21.dll
these are for CMDB CI Viewer 2.1 version and the version is always reflected in the name of the file. So, if you have any other versions of CMDB the versions have to match. You should keep that in mind if you upgrade CMDB or Midtier in the future. The versions will have to be compatible with each other.
The files shown above would be copied from:
C:\Program Files\AR System Applications\<YOUR ARSYSTEM HOSTNAME>\BMC Atrium CMDB\sdk\bin
Restart of the MidTier webserver is required. Restart of the ARServer is not required.
