Filter notifications with 'add shortcut' creates url in Email that doesn't work. More then 30 characters in the servername ARERR [9280]

On filter notifications I have the box checked to "add shortcut". Now that were
using mid-tier it also adds a url in the email message which doesnt work. I tried
adding the server in the mid-tier config tool but the server name field is limited to
30 characters. How can I get around this?
The following error(s) occurred while trying to process your request:
ARERR [9280]
Server not present in the configured servers list -
mytestserver.server1.unix.servername.com

I found 3 defects (SW00207325, SW00219088 and SW00222939) on this issue and have a workaround. This
issue is reportedly resolved in Mid-Tier version 7.0. You can run a 7.0 mid-tier on a 6.3 AR Server if you want.
Here is the workaround for 6.3. This is an upsupported workaround that should work, but it is provided as is. I
recommend you backup any files that you plan on editing.
1) Edit the file located here
<path_to_midtier>/shared/config/config_add_arserver.jsp
2) Find the following lines:
<TR valign="top">
<TD NOWRAP valign="top" class="textBody"
width="120"><B>&nbsp;&nbsp;Server Name*</B> </TD>
<TD NOWRAP valign="top" class="textBody" width="500"> <INPUT
TYPE="text" NAME="servername" SIZE=30 MAXLENGTH=30
onChange="SetModifiedFlag()" /></TD>
NOTE: You can change the MAXLENGTH=30 to 32 or more if needed.
3) Save the file, and login to the Mid-Tier Config tool. You will now be able to add the 32-character long server
name.
This should solve the problem. Please give this a try and let me know if the problem is resolved.
